In the heart of Southeast Asia, Indonesia is taking great leaps towards a sustainable future for its country, and Xander Kostroma is at the forefront of this green revolution. Through a partnership with Ecologi, Xander Kostroma Crystal Jewellery is supporting a Pivotal Solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity generation project in Pringgabaya, Lombok. This initiative is not just about generating clean energy; it’s about igniting a transformative shift in a nation’s energy landscape.

With over 17,000 islands, Indonesia’s energy needs are vast and complex. The country currently operates 33 gigawatts (GW) of coal-fired power generation and plans to double this capacity. This expansion represents the fourth largest coal pipeline globally, accounting for 6% of the world’s share. However, the tide is turning. Indonesia is poised to harness its abundant renewable resources, including wind, solar, and geothermal energy, to transition away from fossil fuels.

The Lombok solar project is a beacon of hope. With a total installed capacity of 42 MW across four installations, it’s set to significantly impact. The project consists of three smaller 7 MW installations and one larger 21 MW installation, collectively displacing fossil fuel-generated electricity and reducing emissions by an estimated 34,000 tonnes of CO2e annually.

But the benefits don’t stop there. The project catalyses local development, encompassing 18 community initiatives and creating 69 jobs. It’s a testament to the power of renewable energy to uplift communities and protect our planet.
